About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Laboratory Donor Transfusion Supervisor to lead and oversee all aspects of Blood Transfusion Services and Donor Collection Programs. This role requires strong expertise in blood bank operations, donor services, regulatory compliance, and proven leadership within a clinical laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field
  • ASCP, NCA, or equivalent certification (required)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (blood center preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of AABB and FDA regulations
  • Expertise in blood bank and transfusion operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills

Nice To Haves

  • SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking) preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience in transfusion services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all blood bank operations and transfusion services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (AABB, FDA)
  • Manage compatibility testing (blood typing, antibody screening, crossmatching)
  • Supervise preparation and distribution of blood products
  • Maintain quality control and regulatory compliance standards
  • Manage donor center operations and blood collection programs
  • Develop strategies to grow and retain donor base
  • Coordinate internal databases and external/mobile blood drives
  • Reduce reliance on external blood suppliers through strategic planning
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management
  • Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting
  • Support budgeting and financial planning
  • Perform donor and patient phlebotomy
  • Conduct donor screenings and health assessments
  • Prepare and label blood components
  • Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform preventive maintenance
  • Lead Quality Control, Assurance, and Improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Maintain regulatory records and documentation
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in transfusion services
  • Collaborate with physicians, pathologists, and healthcare teams
  • Facilitate staff meetings and ongoing education programs
