About The Position

The position oversees the administrative, fiscal, and technical operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. The role includes managing quality control and assurance programs, directing laboratory activities, and coordinating with other hospital departments. Additionally, it involves personnel management, including hiring, staff development, and evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field preferred.
  • MT(ASCP / AMT) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of acute care management experience preferred.
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines related to clinical laboratories.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical activities of the clinical laboratory.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the quality control program and quality assurance within the laboratory.
  • Direct point of care testing programs in the clinical laboratory.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate laboratory work.
  • Coordinate laboratory activities with other hospital areas.
  • Manage personnel including hiring, discipline, staff development, and payroll.
  • Act as technical supervisor for off-site clinical laboratory functions.
  • Ensure the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements (CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA, etc.).
