The Laboratory Data Exchange Coordinator at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) plays a crucial role in coordinating and supporting timely and quality testing for populations at risk of infection. This position involves designing and implementing lab-wide onboarding activities to enhance the use of electronic test order and reporting (ETOR) systems across the state. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure data quality and facilitate effective communication between clinical providers and health systems.

  • Design and coordinate lab-wide onboarding activities with clinical providers and health systems.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures around data exchange.
  • Implement a robust ETOR quality strategy.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory informatics team to ensure timely and accurate orders and results are exchanged.
  • Support surveillance and epidemiology reporting to federal, state, and local partners.
  • Work in a complex environment with national, state, and local public health professionals.
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field AND two years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning experience related to data exchange or interoperability.
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning experience related to data exchange or interoperability.
  • Master's degree in public health, bioinformatics, informatics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience with public health data formatting and coding standards, including HL7 and ICD.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of health data collection and reporting.
