About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• 1 year of recent relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory testing processes and specimen handling.
• Ability to accurately perform job duties and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong workflow management skills to respond to fluctuations in volume and unexpected situations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and policies regarding patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and accession specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform basic post-analytic tasks including distributing reports and storing/retrieving specimens.
• Complete quality-related tasks such as documentation and maintaining a clean work area.
• Monitor pending work and escalate priority tasks as needed.
• Operate basic pre-analytic lab equipment.
• Adhere to local/state/federal regulations and policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
