Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a full-time (40 hours per week) position in our Laboratory Department for a Laboratory Assistant. Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- BLS a plus; certification is required as an employee.
- Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of clinical Lab experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Performing phlebotomy
- Drug and alcohol testing
- Operating and maintaining waived lab equipment
- Takes lab orders from physician’s offices
- Request faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures
- Notifies providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria
- Represents the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.
