About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant will help in the pre-analytical stage of the sample preparation process for clinical testing. This role will join our high performing molecular, chemistry, and/or serology-based laboratory testing team, and the ideal candidate will have the desire to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday | 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Requirements

Experienced in laboratory procedures
Knowledge of laboratory protocols
Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment
Ability to work overtime as needed
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and email
High school diploma is required

Responsibilities

Follow and adhere to all Corporate Standard Operating Procedures and Corporate Compliance Program.
Follow all safety, HIPAA, regulatory requirements
Able to perform all testing per Standard Operating Procedures
Use problem solving skills to improve the laboratory processes
Document, organize, and maintain accurate records and storage of samples for easy retrieval
Maintain constant communication with laboratory personnel regarding sample receiving or laboratory issues
Assist in the pre-analytical stage of the sample preparation process for all the different testing types
Assist with sample aliquoting
Perform all delegated tasks in a timely and professional manner
Mandatory participation in weekly meetings to discuss clinical testing operation, process improvements, internal projects, and any other relevant topics of interest
Inspection/Audit: the laboratory should be prepared and operated on a day-to-day basis to result in no deficiencies on any scheduled, random, or unannounced inspection from any accrediting agency including but not limited to CLIA, CAP, OSHA, Department of Health, State, etc.
