About The Position

Metis QA Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for receiving, accessioning, and preparing cannabis and nutraceutical samples for analysis. The ideal candidate will support daily lab operations, maintain hygienic conditions, and ensure accurate sample tracking in accordance with SOPs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of college coursework in a science-related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and computer proficiency.
Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor.
Must maintain confidentiality of client data and lab information.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, squat, and perform manual tasks.
Must be able to see, hear, and use hands effectively.
Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with data entry and laboratory work is a plus.

Responsibilities

Receive, accession, and aliquot samples in compliance with SOPs.
Prepare samples for analysis and maintain accurate tracking logs.
Assist in solution preparation and inventory management.
Maintain cleanliness of labware and workspaces.
Support daily lab operations including phone answering, temperature checks, and documentation.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to meet daily workflow goals.
Use Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample tracking and data entry.
Promote a safe work environment by following OSHA and lab safety protocols.
Answer phones, track, and unpack supply orders
