How you’ll contribute A Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) who excels in this role: The Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform basic laboratory duties to include phlebotomy, along with other specimen collection, and waived testing. The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for ordering, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens. Review of pending reports, manifests, etc. for outstanding lab results, assisting other lab personnel with specimen storage and retrieval, ensuring Turn Around Times (TATs) are met; and maintaining inventory for phlebotomy services, reference lab supplies, and departmental office supplies. Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.

  • Perform basic laboratory duties to include phlebotomy, along with other specimen collection, and waived testing.
  • Responsible for ordering, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens.
  • Review of pending reports, manifests, etc. for outstanding lab results
  • Assisting other lab personnel with specimen storage and retrieval
  • Ensuring Turn Around Times (TATs) are met

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic math, interpretive and analytical skills are required.
  • Information collection and management, attention to detail, along with the ability to work under pressure are required in this position.
