Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a PRN (as needed) position in our Laboratory Department for a Laboratory Assistant. Laboratory Assistant Responsibilities: The Lab Assistant duties include, but are not limited to: performing phlebotomy, drug and alcohol testing, operating and maintaining waived lab equipment. Takes lab orders from physician’s offices. Request faxed orders with diagnosis and signatures. Notifies providers of orders that do not meet lab criteria. Represents the laboratory by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors.

Requirements

Two years of clinical Lab experience is preferred.
High School diploma or GED.
BLS a plus; certification is required as an employee.
Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee.
