Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose Perform various tasks to support the laboratory technical staff, including blood specimen collection, specimen procurement, specimen processing, lab testing, send-outs, and the maintenance of quality assurance records, as well as, other duties assigned by director, manager, or other lab leadership. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• None Required Licensure and Certifications
• Minimum of two (2) years of Phlebotomy or Lab Assistant experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, detailed oriented

Responsibilities

• Receive and process samples to identify suitability.
• Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.
• Perform laboratory testing, including pH and bacterial culturing.
• Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the appropriate department.
• Perform quality control as directed by the Lab Director.
• Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
