Laboratory Assistant

Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program
- phlebotomy experience
- experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- phlebotomy
- collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens
- Drawing blood from adult and pediatric patients.
- Processing of blood and non-blood specimens
- operating centrifuges
- entering patient information into the computer system.
