A Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of functions including responsibility for performance of computer hardware and software operations and maintenance, processing specimens, distributing specimens, etc. Interacts with a variety of persons such as nursing and medical staff, physician office staff, staff from other hospitals and clients, patients and family members, sales staff and repair representatives, etc. Represents the laboratory via telephone and fax communications to various clients, customers, etc. Phlebotomy experience in a Hospital or busy Laboratory is vitally important for the position.
