About The Position

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus Full Time Nights Summary Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt, and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of laboratory experience
• Phlebotomy certification where State law requires

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in the laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution
• In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience
• Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar

Responsibilities

• Completes prioritization, receipt, registration, and distribution of specimens.
• Has responsibility for send out/reference lab shipping, tracking, and billing.
• Will perform waived testing, as requested.
• Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.
