We are seeking an Animal Technician to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on overall animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep and recordkeeping and procedural duties. The person in this role will need to feel passionate about working with animals, enjoy and excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment. Requirements

Must be available to work weekends/holidays on a rotating basis
Willingness to work overtime when needed
Lift up to 50lbs
Stand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a time
Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift.

Responsibilities

Cares for animals including feeling, cleaning and breeding responsibilities
Maintain detailed records of animal production and inventory in precisely weighed and aged groups
Keeps accurate records of feeding, cleaning and care of animals.
Follows protocol to ensure the health and welfare of the animals in care
Work within changing shift times and rotating overtime schedule
Maintains responsibility for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages and support areas.
Able to handle laboratory animals and recognize abnormalities
Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality care for laboratory animals and their offspring
Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently
Good teamwork skills
Able to work in a confined environment
Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs throughout regular work shift
Other duties as assigned
