About The Position

We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join our growing team and help us in our vision to give back lives, reunite families, and heal communities that are suffering from the devastating effects of substance use disorder. As a Laboratory Analyst, you play a key role in performing a variety of moderate and waived testing to include screening toxicology drug analysis, in a clinic or laboratory setting. Additional responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • 60 semester hours which includes 24 semester hours of science courses
  • Self – Directed, working independently in a clinic setting.
  • Integrate tasks and duties into the clinic patient flow.
  • Individual must be highly detail oriented and be able to apply toxicology experience to the evaluation of sample analysis.
  • Must be able to support technical workers to provide an environment conductive to efficient operation.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and communities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Understand and adhere to the federal confidentiality regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • 6-months working in Ideal Option Laboratories.
  • 1-year experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Specimen management, including specimen tracking, processing, racking, and disposal.
  • Analyze patient specimens on a variety of analyzers.
  • Make independent decisions relating to patient testing and prioritization of testing.
  • Perform and report quality control on all instrumentations before reporting test results following established quality control policies and procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and simple routine troubleshooting on a variety of instruments and equipment, documents appropriately.
  • Verify all normal and abnormal results, correlates abnormal test results with other patient data, seeks manager consultation if necessary.
  • Maintain patients' medical records and verify accuracy.
  • Assist in ordering laboratory supplies and necessities to maintain appropriate level of inventory.
  • Perform and report routine and STAT laboratory tests of moderate and/or high complexity.
  • Comply with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Other duties as assigned.
