About the position

As a Laboratory Analyst III, you play a vital role in performing routine testing within our quality laboratory, providing essential analytical data for process control, quality control, and process development. Your expertise ensures that our chemical processes, including technical production, waste treatment, and formulation production, are effectively maintained. You lead laboratory initiatives, support training for contractors, and contribute to research and development projects, laboratory validation, and procurement efforts. Your commitment to maintaining accurate records, ensuring a clean and safe work environment, and communicating results to internal and external customers is crucial to the success of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform routine analytical testing according to protocols and work instructions, working various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Assist in day-to-day coordination of lab tasks, planning, supporting, and allocating routine workflow to team members and contract employees.
  • Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of waste, and perform other duties to support overall laboratory operations, including training others on waste management.
  • Alert lab leadership and resolve issues or discrepancies involving sample integrity, supply inventory, safety concerns, or analysis irregularities.
  • Conduct preventative and general maintenance, leading efforts to troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Implement laboratory preventative maintenance program and manage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Chromatography Data System (CDS).
  • Promptly and accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results, reviewing analytical data and LIMS reports, and communicate issues with team members and supervisor.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, lead continuous improvement projects, and assist in developing and documenting new procedures.
  • Communicate testing results to customers, understand customer requirements, and apply data/issues from the customer's perspective to decision-making.
  • Maintain records to meet internal and external requirements, including ISO standards, and provide training on lab protocols to new analysts, contractors, and other personnel.
  • Track lab standards and chemicals to ensure compliance with regulations and plant policy, manage laboratory requisitioning, and lead lab/site safety programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of seven years lab experience with a High School Diploma; OR Bachelor's Degree with two years lab experience; OR AA or AS degree with five years lab experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to analyze outcomes against a standard.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize efficiency and productivity of the laboratory.
