About The Position

The Laboratory Analyst has some knowledge of commonly used microbiological concepts, practices and procedures. This person has working knowledge of formulations for various media used in the laboratories’ techniques. The person in this position should be able to work independently when necessary. Must live a commutable distance to Worcester, MA. Interviews and Training will take place in Cranston, NH Compensation- $19-20/hour (DOE) plus Benefits Schedule is Mon-Fri 9am-6pm

Requirements

  • An Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory performing various environmental analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to perform light lifting and light housekeeping duties
  • Must be able to tolerate of unpleasant odors
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receipt of and proper logging in of all samples received into the laboratory.
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct analysis is performed on all samples received into the laboratory.
  • Ensures that proper Quality Control/Quality Assurance tests are performed on all analyses for the day.
  • Correctly utilizes all QC/QA documentation/logbooks.
  • Assists MLT III to ensure that the QA/QC task schedule is completed as necessary.
  • Input and review data entry from the bench sheets to the Laboratory Information Management System (currently Element).
  • Interface with clients
  • Conducts all laboratory tasks as needed.
  • SOP revision as needed
  • Work with MLT III and LD to order supplies necessary for the day to day running of the laboratory.
  • Responsible for running routine and non-routine, specialized microbiological analyses.
  • Perform field work as necessary.
  • Prepare media necessary for various analyses in the laboratory.
  • Laboratory maintenance.
  • Work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed on a rotating basis.
