About The Position

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Labor & Employee Relations Specialist to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever. Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all intake of Labor/Employee Relations issues, complaints and grievances.
  • Gather and collect all evidence and documentation related to Team Member Discipline and distribute as required.
  • Assist Director of Labor Relations with all grievances, investigations and inquiries.
  • Coordinate information inquiries from Union, Team Members and Managers.
  • Assist with administrative functions, such as Grievance Log, Labor Report, Monthly Union Increase and annual Wage Increases.
  • Assist with projects such as Progressive Discipline and Contract training classes and other Human Resources related documentation and records.
  • Assist as the primary point of contact for information requests from Union representatives, BeneSys, employees, and Management.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of HR initiatives, such as Progressive Discipline programs.
  • Conduct training sessions, and the preparation of essential HR documentation and records.
  • Assist team members with any questions and procedures and assist with HR Front Desk Receptionist duties.
  • Assist HR staff members with any administrative functions as necessary.
  • Assist HR staff members with special events and projects.
  • Participate in industry organizations.
  • Participate as a member of the hotel's Safety Committee.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested.
