About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Labor Relations Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining St. Francis Medical Center’s labor relations strategies, programs, and processes. This role ensures effective labor-management relations, provides expert guidance on collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretation, and supports leaders across the organization with labor-related matters. The Labor Relations Manager oversees the grievance process, partners with operational leaders to address workplace issues proactively, and contributes to the medical center’s collective bargaining strategy through data analysis and trend identification. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in labor relations, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources management or related field or
  • Minimum of five years of experience at a management or senior administrative level related to employee/labor relations.
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers and senior executives
  • Knowledge of Labor law as it relates to CBA administration, Labor and Employment Law.
  • Ensures effective workflow within the organization. Must understand, interpret, and communicate priorities in a diplomatic manner.
  • Proficiency in Word and Outlook; and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and have a calm temperament.
  • Must have the ability to independently organize, prioritize, and schedule work effectively.
  • Must have the ability to work well under time constraints.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to be discreet and to keep information strictly confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, interpret, and ensure compliance with all collective bargaining agreements.
  • Manage the full grievance process, including investigation, documentation, facilitation of meetings, and recommended outcomes.
  • Support preparation for and participation in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Track, analyze, and report labor-related issues, grievances, trends, and outcomes to inform strategy.
  • Provide training and education to management on labor relations topics, CBA requirements, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist with other HR initiatives, investigations, and compliance matters as needed.

  • A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $102,294.40 to $126,276.80 on an annualized basis.
