We are seeking a full-time Labor Relations Director to join our team. Remote Position: available for candidates residing in Pennsylvania Position details: The Labor Relations Director oversees all aspects of labor relations function and the labor relations team. This position ensures compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements, cultivates and manages union relations, collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand the organization and build strategy, and negotiates collective bargaining agreements for all Merakey legal entities and divisions. This role requires strong leadership, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of labor laws and employment regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Human Services, Labor, Law, or related field required
  • A minimum of 10 years in Labor Relations experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of labor law at the federal level, with the ability to interpret updates and changes at the federal, state, and local levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Labor Relations Preferred
  • SHRM certificate preferred.
  • Certified Labor Relations Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies aligned with business goals; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to mitigate risks.
  • Serve as lead liaison with union representatives; lead collective bargaining efforts; oversee grievance and dispute resolution processes.
  • Advise HR and leadership on complex labor matters, contract interpretation, and risk mitigation; support the development of fair, legally sound workplace policies and a positive employee culture.
  • Provide training to managers and employees on labor law compliance, conflict resolution, and contract administration; mentor Labor Specialists to support organizational goals effectively.
  • Leverage workforce data and labor trends to identify areas for improvement, inform policy decisions, and shape proactive labor initiatives.
  • Lead union strategy and workforce planning; provide executive-level guidance on labor issues; manage and develop a team of Labor Specialists to ensure coordinated and consistent execution of labor strategy.
  • Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
