As part of the Labor Department team, the coordinator will play an essential role in maintaining and enhancing the Department’s Contract and Pension Fund database. This entry-level position is designed for candidates with a strong interest in building a long-term career in Labor Relations. From day one, you will gain hands-on experience in contract administration, wage analysis, and union relations, while receiving mentorship and exposure to labor negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, labor relations, human resources, or legal field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of business office experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills; extremely detail oriented; ability to multi-task and prioritize independently.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Construction administration and/or union environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and update Contracts Database to accurately reflect all revisions to Collective Bargaining Agreements—building a strong foundation in contract interpretation and labor policy.
• Maintain and update Pension Fund Database including yearly outreach to Funds—gaining experience in financial oversight and compliance.
• Review, calculate, and approve Union wage rate schedules—developing analytical and problem-solving skills with direct business impact.
• Provide administrative assistance to the Vice President of Labor Relations—offering visibility into strategic decision-making and mentorship from senior leadership.
