About The Position

This position serves as a consultant related to labor relations and recommends labor strategies in collaboration with assigned leadership. Consults pertaining to the design, implementation and maintenance of Logan Health’s labor relations program and policies. Represents Logan Health in labor-management relations, including contract negotiations and/or arbitration cases. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, business or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in complex labor relations experience including bargaining required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and build relationships at all levels.
  • Possess strong conflict management skills.
  • Possess ability to collaborate with diverse personalities, in a tactful, mature, and flexible way.
  • Possess good reasoning abilities with sound judgment.
  • Ability to persuade others into mutual beneficial goals and settlements.
  • Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs consultation in the design, implementation and maintenance of Logan Health’s labor relations program and policies.
  • Represents Logan Health in labor-management relations, including contract negotiations and/or arbitration cases.
  • Leads and coordinates labor relations activities for Logan Health in collaboration with assigned leadership.
  • Applies effective interpersonal and formal presentation skill and builds trust with key stakeholders to influence optimal outcomes in line with labor relations strategies.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of collective bargaining agreements and maintains broad knowledge of the unique needs of the organization.
  • Drives an understanding of labor relations and labor management partnership (LMP) activities within facilities and functions.
  • Consults effectively and provides expert advice regarding union agreements through accurate interpretation of intent, spirit and terms of the various agreements.
  • Conducts appropriate research and additional consultation to ensure accurate interpretation.
  • Partners with leadership and HR on labor relations and LMP aspects of key initiatives.
  • Researches, develops and maintains labor relations data and records, leverages key connections with HR, Finance, etc. to generate data.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with labor organizations.
