This Material Handler position specifically supports Goodwill Industries of San Antonio in distributing donated goods for processing, shipping, or storage, aligning with the mission to help change lives through the power of work.

Requirements

  • 6 months minimum experience working successfully in a fast-paced, physical, outdoor, service-oriented warehouse environment
  • Good verbal communication skills with ability to effectively work as a team to achieve mission goals
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload and move materials using hand truck or forklift, onto or from pallets, racks or shelves to maintain workflow of production cycle and to distribute donated goods.
  • Place textiles into baler from hamper or cart; weigh bundles; transfer bundles to designated location, using hand truck or forklift; maintain production records.
  • Ensure work areas and facilities remain clean and organized.
  • Keep work area clean by sweeping, emptying trash cans and disposing of trash in appropriate containers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Adhere to Loss Prevention and inventory control and compliance procedures.
  • Fills in as an assistant on trucks.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Assist in safeguarding Goodwill team members and property from harm, damage or theft.
  • Comply with the Ethics Policy by immediately reporting any observed or suspected theft, fraud, violence, or any unethical or inappropriate behavior to a supervisor, human resources, or the Ethics Hotline.
