About The Position
The Department of Labor and Industry's Tidewater Regional Office in Norfolk, VA is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to work as a full-time Labor Law Compliance Officer, focusing on child labor compliance. The Labor and Employment Law Compliance Officer administers minimum wage, payment of wage, youth employment, anti-retaliation and additional labor laws as listed in the Code of Virginia and the rules and regulations of the agency in the most effective and efficient manner possible. This position is also responsible for administering, interpreting, and enforcing State labor laws through comprehensive investigations, informal settlements, and court proceedings. This position testifies in administrative, civil, and criminal court hearings. In addition, this position assists in the preparation and execution of various legal documents.
