We have an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Associate with 3-6 years of experience providing advice and counsel to employers and handling single-plaintiff, complex, collective, and/or class action litigation and proceedings on their behalf. As an associate in the Labor & Employment Department, you’ll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Requirements
- 3-6 years’ high-caliber experience representing employers in various types of labor and employment matters
- Experience advising employers on traditional labor, restrictive covenants, wage and hour law, leaves and accommodations, and other general—but sophisticated—employment law topics
- Experience handling employment law litigation, with an emphasis on single-plaintiff, complex and/or class and collective action matters, with a preference for those who have handled court conferences, depositions, mediations, dispositive motions, and trials.
- Excellent writing and communication skills that allow you to advocate effectively with clients and on their behalf
- A desire to work hard for discerning clients and with exceptional colleagues, all of whom expect the very best from the lawyers on their team
- Intellectual curiosity and high emotional intelligence
- Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
- Stellar analytical skills and good judgment
- Experience providing recommendations and practical business solutions to clients
- The ability to walk and chew gum at the same time, i.e., the skills to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Admission to the New York bar is required, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and/or Connecticut is a plus
