About The Position

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our sophisticated and nationally recognized Labor & Employment group in our Los Angeles office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex employment litigation matters within a collaborative, growth-focused environment. As our practice continues to expand on the West Coast, we are seeking a highly skilled labor and employment attorney, ideally with some portable business (approximately $100,000+ would be ideal), to help further grow our presence in California. This opportunity is ideal for a senior associate or counsel-level attorney seeking an entrepreneurial platform backed by the resources of an Am Law 200 firm. We are looking for an attorney with a minimum of 6 years of labor & employment experience in a law firm setting.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Minimum of 6 years of experience in labor and employment litigation
Portable book of business (approximately $100,000 or more preferred, but not required)
Strong oral and written advocacy skills
Demonstrated ability to manage cases and client needs independently
Admission to practice in California

Responsibilities

Represent employers in single-plaintiff and complex employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and PAGA actions
Independently manage all phases of litigation from pre-litigation evaluation through trial or resolution
Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions and class certification briefing
Manage written discovery and take/defend depositions
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials
Provide day-to-day counseling and risk assessment on employment law issues, including leaves of absence, accommodations, discipline, and terminations
Work closely with partners and leadership to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business
