About The Position

The Labor Distribution Accountant is responsible for managing the labor
distribution (LD) process and ensuring accurate costing for all university
faculty, staff, and student employees. This role collaborates closely with
Campus Business Managers, Departmental LD Analysts, and HCMs to provide guidance
on labor distribution matters and ensure compliance with established policies
and procedures. The position may also serve as the Departmental LD Analyst for
units without assigned financial administrators.

Requirements

• Knowledge of how labor schedules work and how they are used to distribute costs to projects and accounts is vital.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly those with labor distribution modules like Oracle, is essential.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify errors, and make recommendations to improve cost allocation processes is a core skill.
• Meticulous attention to detail is critical for ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and distribution rules.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field (degree must be completed within six months of the hire date)
• At least two years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 1-2 years in payroll or finance
