About The Position
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) at Angel Staffing Inc. plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to women and their newborns throughout the various stages of childbirth, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal care. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nurse who can monitor vital signs, provide support during labor, and address any complications that may arise during the birthing process. The Labor and Delivery RN is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby, offering education and support to families during this critical time. In this role, the Labor and Delivery Nurse will meet with expectant mothers for prenatal visits, providing care for both normal and problematic pregnancies. They will teach childbirth preparation classes and offer guidance and hands-on clinical care to pregnant women. Monitoring fetal heartbeats and the strength and timing of contractions during labor is a key responsibility, as is coaching women through the delivery process and administering necessary medications. After birth, the nurse will perform tests on newborns and provide new mothers with guidance on recovery and infant care. The Labor and Delivery RN will conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate condition. They will develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with other healthcare team members, ensuring that treatments are performed accurately and timely. The nurse will also document patient assessments and responses to interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR), maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Continuous professional development is essential, and the nurse is expected to maintain current competency in their specialty through educational workshops and professional networking.
