BMC Brighton Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Position: Registered Nurse Location: Labor & Delivery Schedule: Per Diem POSITION SUMMARY: As a Labor and Delivery nurse you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- 2+ years' experience Labor and Delivery
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire (offered during orientation)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification required within 8 weeks of hire.
- Experience with electronic health record preferred
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
