About The Position

ABOUT THE LABOR & DELIVERY DEPARTMENT AT St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center: Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues Update and manage patient records Enter and interpret computerized data/information Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification
  • 2 years experience Labor and Delivery Experience with electronic health record preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in another language a plus.
