About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for a full-time, permanent night-shift opportunity in Dickson, Tennessee. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions within the Labor & Delivery unit during the designated shift. In collaboration with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures while serving as a clinical and operational resource for staff. This overnight CNC role functions as both Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager, requiring strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for staffing, patient care, and operational needs throughout the shift. The CNC must be comfortable managing staffing needs, delivering babies, and scrubbing into the OR when required.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of employment start date
  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience REQUIRED
  • Previous leadership experience in Women’s Services, Labor & Delivery, NICU, or Mother-Baby units REQUIRED
  • Must be comfortable functioning as Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager
  • Must be capable of delivering babies and scrubbing in the OR as needed
  • Must be comfortable serving as the overnight go-to leader for staffing and operational needs

Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient throughput
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with leadership
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to support teamwork and improved outcomes
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and participate in service recovery when needed
  • Operationalize nursing engagement strategies including rounding and staff support initiatives
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, hiring, training, and staff development
  • Support performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and personnel policy compliance
  • Assist with staff scheduling and labor management based on patient care needs
  • Support inventory control and supply management
