About The Position

Holy Cross Health provides compassionate, patient-centered birthing care with advanced monitoring and pain-management techniques. As a member of the Labor and Delivery team you will collaborate with obstetricians, laborists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nurses, to ensure a successful labor and delivery. With a delivery rate of approximately 10,000 babies annually, Holy Cross in Silver Spring is the leading birthing hospital in Maryland and the District of Columbia. This is a Full-Time position, reporting to the Director of Labor & Delivery, performing patient care duties delegated by the RN related to patients’ personal needs, comfort, and safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as a nursing assistant by the Maryland State Board of Nursing
BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

Provides hygiene, mobility, and procedural care across various age groups.
Proficient in setting up and using respiratory and cardiac equipment.
Utilizes aseptic techniques for various procedures, maintaining isolation standards.
Assists Anesthesiologist with epidural and spinal anesthesia placement.
Maintains anesthesia supplies, equipment, and cleanliness in patient areas.
Orders and stocks routine and specialized supplies.
Monitors vital signs and reports to RN for various patient populations.
Other duties as assigned
