About The Position
The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
- Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)
Responsibilities
- Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult).
- Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care.
- Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms.
