Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Educates new mothers on all phases of breastfeeding including reasons for breast feeding, care while breast feeding, and information on how to breastfeed. Assists with processes and expressing of milk using breast pumps. Provides support to patients and responds to questions. Assists physicians in diagnosing breast disease. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Advises physicians of any physical conditions affecting the new mother that impact on ability to breast feed. May provide training to other staff. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a certified nursing school.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required.
