We have an opportunity for a Lab Test Technician to join the Sanford, NC team. You will organize and perform tests on various engineered products. Ensure the test lab equipment, instrumentation, processes, facilities, and documentation is maintained to the highest standards; and testing is conducted and results gathered and reported with complete integrity.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or 2 years of experience
  • Basic project management
  • Basic mechanical design including plumbing.
  • Basic electrical design
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, LabView, Database).
  • Problem solving
  • Knowledge of engineering, regulatory agency, industry, and government requirements
  • Knowledge of the quality management system procedures
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Organize materials and set up product testing stations
  • Perform product performance and reliability testing
  • Review testing and provide documentation
  • Continually evaluate the efficient use and organization of all lab facilities. Make recommendations, write proposals, gain approvals, and implement changes to improve the safety, performance, and cost effectiveness of the lab
  • Ensure that all testing records are accurate, up-to-date, and organized to facilitate retrieval and analysis.
  • Ensure that necessary lab equipment is maintained through the Preventive Maintenance System.
  • Insure calibration of all lab test equipment.
  • Insure proper maintenance of all water tanks and pools.
  • Insure proper stocking, storage, documentation, and control of all chemicals.
  • Ensure that all lab testing and operating procedures are accurate, up-to-date, and controlled through the document control system.
