We are adding a Laboratory Technologist to join our crew in Altoona, PA! The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for ordering, collecting, preparing, and analyzing specimens in support of the provider team.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software and communication tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
  • Maintain compliance with all Gloria Gates CARE standards, including Conduct, Compliance, and all other policies and procedures.
  • Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) with bachelor's degree from an accredited college and ASCP certification
  • 1+ years of experience in a hospital, medical practice, or independent laboratory testing facility

Responsibilities

  • Reviews laboratory reports for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
  • Observes the practice's policies, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and performs work safely.
  • Produces quality lab results and has few errors.
  • Reviews the Laboratory Policy and Procedures Manuals annually.
  • Satisfactory Proficiency Testing scores.
  • Accuracy in performing QC/ corrective action/failures/documentation.
  • Meet collection and turn-around-time expectations.
  • Participates in annual competency assessment of all testing performed.
