About The Position

The Assistant Director of Street Planning is responsible for the effective and efficient performance of the missions of the City of Corpus Christi related to the management and maintenance of the City's street system. This position provides oversight and administration for the street pavement reconstruction program and the Street Preventative Maintenance Program (SPMP), provides traffic engineering services, and plans the structural, operational and aesthetic maintenance and repair of the street transportation network. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of street asset inventory and planning of bridge maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work. The Assistant Director serves in a senior leadership role to support the Department Director through long term strategic planning and displaying sound judgement in department programs and services.

Requirements

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas or ability to become registered within 6 months of hire.
  • Previous experience administering street reconstruction and street preventive maintenance programs (SPMP) work.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license required; out of state candidates must obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

  • Manage the engineering and technical organizations required to support assigned missions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
