About The Position

The Lab Technologist – Cooking Science supports the development of innovative cooking technologies that enhance the consumer’s Taste Experience and promote sustainable eating. In this role, you will translate consumer needs into technical solutions, conduct performance and compliance testing, and help shape new cooking features and methodologies. You’ll collaborate with global teams, evaluate product functionality, and contribute to advancements that enable consumers to create high‑quality meals at home. Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and cross‑functional collaboration are key to success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or Culinary Arts
  • Experience in food preparation, cooking processes, or food product testing
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies such as DOE and statistical evaluation (preferred)
  • Experience in the food or appliance industry and basic understanding of electrical lab practices
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including report writing and communication of test results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to work in a matrixed global organization

Nice To Haves

  • Public‑facing presentation or cooking demonstration experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Translate consumer needs into technical requirements and project specifications
  • Develop and evaluate new cooking features, product functionalities, and testing methodologies
  • Create test plans and execute cooking performance, compliance, and feature‑based testing
  • Document results through reports, presentations, and test records for relevant stakeholders
  • Apply international standards, internal test manuals, and sustainability targets when designing and conducting tests
  • Align test methodologies with global laboratories and external test institutes
  • Develop new testing and evaluation methods to support product innovation
  • Support cross‑functional teams in performance, benchmarking, lifetime, cost, and quality testing
  • Bring culinary trends and innovation insights into appliance development, including recipe creation for feature demonstration
  • Partner with external stakeholders such as universities, labs, and culinary experts for testing or innovation support
