About The Position

The Lab Technician position involves performing a variety of chemical, biological, and physical tests essential for research, development, and quality control. The role includes compiling data for reports, conducting routine analyses on samples, and maintaining laboratory compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards. The technician may also assist in specialized analyses under the guidance of a Chemist and is responsible for ensuring proper documentation and quality control of test results.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent, with coursework in qualitative and quantitative Chemistry or biology preferred.
  • Zero to two years of experience in a related position in a similar environment.
  • Ability to use laboratory apparatus and equipment to perform accurate, repeatable work.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, biological, and physical tests for research, development, or quality control.
  • Compile data for reports and maintain quality control records.
  • Conduct routine tasks and analyses on samples according to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in specialized analysis under the direction of a Chemist.
  • Maintain laboratory compliance with hygiene plans and assist in special studies.
  • Conduct login procedures for samples, ensuring proper labeling and paperwork.
  • Sub-sample materials and follow analytical methods for compliance.
  • Record and compute results from test data and maintain quality control records.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of materials and conduct QA/QC sample analysis.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all test results and audits sample documents before approval.
  • Prepare reagent/chemical solutions and maintain an inventory of chemical stores.
  • Collect and log all Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) documents for chemical stores.
  • Maintain and distribute current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for applicable methods.
  • Notify supervision of any personnel, equipment, or material problems and respond to corrective actions.
  • Perform periodic audits of analytical logs and data for regulatory compliance.
