About The Position

Monitor and maintain quality of all products produced at RMA Baytown in accordance with Quality, Laboratory, Environmental and Safety systems while providing excellent support to production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - required.
  • 2 years of lab experience in a manufacturing environment (plastic experience preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage time, organize, and set priorities.
  • Forklift license required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  • Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  • All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
  • Ability to lift up to 55-lbs.
  • Able to stand 8 plus hours per day.
  • Full Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally reach with hands & arms: stoop: kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; talk; hear; and smell.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate verbally, read and comprehend information, type on a consistent and daily basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related laboratory field- preferred
  • plastic experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Mold & test plastic specimens.
  • Provide production process support when required; Confidence to shut down an extruder when a quality concern makes it necessary.
  • Support manufacturing by assisting with re-work, formulation, SPC reaction plan adjustments and SOC changes as necessary to produce product within specification.
  • Prepare data for lot certifications and enter SPC data from off-line testing.
  • Prepare customer samples as requested for external testing and customer shipment.
  • Perform in-process color sample preparation, measurement, and pigment adjustments where necessary.
  • Maintain/improve laboratory cleanliness & organization.
  • Laboratory equipment PM’s and verifications.
  • Support receiving staff with raw material inspection, testing and approval.
  • Train, coach, assist and verify manufacturing personnel to be able to properly perform in-process product inspections.
  • Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.
  • Uphold the Ravago Code of Conduct standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manger.
