About The Position

The Lab technician will be responsible for the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of test equipment supporting the testing and development of tubular pipe product for SeAH Steel USA, LLC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience as a lab technician preferred.
  • Capable of working MS Office suite especially Excel.
  • Exceptional reading, writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and Computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to organize vast amounts of data and multi-task several priorities with excellent time management.
  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.
  • Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
  • The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
  • The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all applicable mechanical/chemical testing of material that is processed by SeAH Steel USA, LLC to insure conformity to API/Customer specifications.
  • Assist in the daily data input from all quality and production departments testing’s.
  • Maintain organization of all applicable records and documents.
  • Maintain current product knowledge.
  • Will assist in evaluating defective welds/tube defects on material that is rejected by SeAH Steel USA, LLC or our customers.
  • Help train personnel working in the lab, and ensure lab is maintained in impeccable order.
  • Analysis of daily, weekly, & monthly quality reports.
  • Report any discrepancies on reports to direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
