About The Position

Laboratory technicians are involved in a variety of laboratory-based investigations within the resin science areas. They may carry out sampling, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing of a number of sample matrices as part of a scientific team. Technicians provide all the required technical support to enable ResinTech to function effectively while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing laboratory
  • the ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment;
  • time management skills to work on several different projects at the same time
  • the ability to learn specific, practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems
  • good hand and eye coordination and the ability to use technical equipment with accuracy;
  • flexibility to work with and provide support for several people
  • excellent oral communication skills to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organization and to explain complex issues to interested parties;
  • teamwork skills
  • patience
  • Attention to detail.
  • Due to the nature of laboratory work, normal color vision is essential. Excellent record-keeping skills are also required, along with basic math skills and computing.

Responsibilities

  • performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support plant operations in a timely fashion
  • recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues.
  • using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs.
  • following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks
  • Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps.
  • Completes projects by assisting project team; attending and participating in group and project meetings.
  • keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;
  • Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
