As a technician will help support engineering and marketing by testing products in an active laboratory environment. Who You Are You’re a hands-on multitasker who is eager to apply your knowledge to help support internal and external test requests. The technician’s responsibilities include hands-on testing of mechanical and adhesive based products which includes installations into concrete, masonry, and steel. Operating laboratory equipment, creating test reports and providing results to engineering. As a Lab Technician, , you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team working as an on-site employee . Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in hands-on technical atmosphere.
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • Enjoys getting your hands dirty.
  • Computer literate; MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with (but not required) applicable construction / industry technical literature including recognized standards (ASTM. ACI, ICC-ES) that govern the procedures and test requirements that must be adhered to during the testing.
  • Previous experience within the construction industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on testing of anchoring products.
  • Daily use of computer-based laboratory testing software.
  • Create final test reports in excel format and file appropriately into database.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (Hydraulic pumps, direct fastening tools, percussion hammer drills, commercial construction equipment, etc.).
  • Metallurgical testing (steel tensile and rockwell superficial/ Vickers micro hardness profiles) as well as sample preparation for tests.
  • Concrete pour and cylinder preparation and testing.
  • Forklift operation (on-site training available if needed)
  • Setup and monitoring of environmental corrosion testing
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment
