Requirements

An Associate's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Material Science, or a related technical field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.
1-3 years of experience working in a quality control lab, preferably within a manufacturing, metals, or foundry environment.
Proven experience operating and troubleshooting Spectrometers (OES).
Proficiency in performing standard mechanical property tests (Tensile, Hardness).
Strong math and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical specifications and data.
Familiarity with lab safety procedures and handling of chemicals and hot materials.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Perform meticulous preparation of metal samples (cutting, grinding, polishing) for various tests.
Operate and maintain Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES) and other analytical equipment to determine the chemical composition of raw materials and finished castings.
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration checks on all lab equipment to ensure accuracy.
Execute Tensile and Hardness Tests (e.g., Brinell, Rockwell) on cast metal samples to confirm mechanical properties meet specifications.
Record, analyze, and interpret test results, promptly reporting any deviations or non-conformances to the Quality and Production teams.
Perform microscopic evaluation of metal structure to assess nodularity and metallographic structure.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests, analyses, and material certifications.
Assist in maintaining the laboratory's quality management system, adhering to ISO 9001 standards and internal safety protocols.
Support problem-solving initiatives related to material quality and process control.
