The Lab Technician position at Constellation Energy encompasses three levels (I, II, and III), each with increasing responsibilities in equipment calibration, testing, and analysis. The role is integral to supporting the company's mission of clean energy production, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Technicians will work under recognized methodologies and industry standards, contributing to the quality assurance of Constellation PowerLabs.

  • Setup and perform basic calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.
  • Produce accurate test reports of calibrations and testing and verify acceptability of results as required in the Constellation PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Support or perform customer onsite calibrations or testing that may involve regional travel.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing and analytical equipment.
  • Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects and calibrations (Lab Tech II and III).
  • Process vendor calibrations and conduct vendor source verifications for testing and calibration (Lab Tech II).
  • Perform corrective/routine maintenance and/or repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment (Lab Tech II).
  • Develop processes for and perform complex calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts (Lab Tech III).
  • Plan, support, and perform customer onsite calibrations and testing that may involve regional travel (Lab Tech III).
  • High School degree for Lab Tech I.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for science, technology, engineering, and math.
  • Ability to gain access to Constellation Nuclear Stations.
  • Associates degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL training (no experience required) for Lab Tech II and III.
  • A high school degree plus four years of relevant experience for Lab Tech II and III.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience.
  • Metrology or related VoTech education.
  • Metrology or related education via VoTech, military or associate degree in technical area for Lab Tech II and III.
