Lab Technician Intern
About The Position
908 Devices Inc. is a company that revolutionizes chemical analysis with handheld devices for critical applications in health, safety, and defense. The company designs and manufactures innovative products combining analytical technologies, software automation, and machine learning. The Lab Technician Intern position supports the optical research and development (R&D) team in continuing and new product development. The intern will work under the supervision of R&D scientists to develop and execute test plans, communicate results through reports and presentations, and evaluate the performance of existing and developing products. Additionally, the intern will assist with general tasks such as library and database improvements, inventory, and system evaluations. This is a temporary, full-time in-person summer position located in Danbury, CT.
Requirements
- At least one semester of organic chemistry
- Operational knowledge of optical spectrometers (FTIR and Raman preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Enrolled in a physical science or forensic science program
Responsibilities
- Chemical and real-life testing of new/current equipment/software
- Product development support
- Spectral library development
- Chemical database improvements
- Assist in inventory management
- Perform system evaluations
