About The Position

The Lab Technician Intern position at Lenovo is a summer internship role focused on supporting product development projects within the Infrastructure Systems Group (ISG). The intern will work closely with Mechanical and Thermal Engineers to assist in server thermal development, contributing to the creation of high-quality server products. This role is based in Morrisville, North Carolina, and involves hands-on work in a lab environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering or related field
• Ability to work onsite in a lab in Morrisville, NC
• Understanding of server/computer hardware technology
• Experience working within a hardware product development team

Nice To Haves

• Experience preparing and shipping materials
• Model Shop experience (mills, lathes, band saw, etc.), must be comfortable and willing to learn basic operational skills

Responsibilities

• Ship and receive systems and components domestically and internationally
• Manage lab equipment calibration
• Apply thermal couplers to circuit boards, modify heatsinks and fans for thermal studies
• Build prototype cables
• Manage and organize physical lab hardware to include: External power supplies, air and thermal chambers
