About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician II to join our team. This role involves various laboratory tasks, including specimen accessioning, slide preparation, and lab maintenance. The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience and advance within the organization.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Biology and Chemistry
• Experience in a laboratory setting
• Understanding of medical laboratory procedures
• Ability to adhere to safety and compliance guidelines
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in the Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Laboratory Science, Environmental Science, etc.)
• 6 months of Laboratory Experience within the Healthcare Industry
• High School Diploma required

Nice To Haves

• Previous lab experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute preferred
• Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Accessioning specimens
• Preparing slide trays
• Filing blocks and slides
• Assisting with lab organization and maintenance
• Preparing solutions and recycling chemicals
• Performing tissue embedding after training
• Assisting with H&E slide preparation
• Cleaning lab equipment and tools
• Stocking lab supplies and performing inventory
• Adhering to compliance and completing training
