About The Position

The Lab Technician I (Entry Level) will conduct the collection of blood samples from subjects while working closely with our Clinical Research staff to provide excellent customer care to patients and their parents participating in our clinical trials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification required
  • Meticulous attention to details and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic use of scientific methods, procedures, and techniques
  • Good communication skills are required, both written and verbal
  • Fluent English is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the collection and recording of patient data per Sponsor requirements via the respective EDC system.
  • Timely and accurately assist in collection, management, and shipment of subjects' samples, and/or specimens
  • This includes completing the above-mentioned training prior to any study-related procedures being conducted on that said protocol should the RA be added to a protocol post-study start.
  • Maintaining clear, concise, accurate, and legible records.
  • Being prepared for and available at all required company meetings and monitoring visits for their assigned protocols at their respective site(s).
  • Utilizing the most recent version of the Protocol, Informed Consent, and Investigator Brochures at their respective site(s).
  • Assisting in the compilation and organization of all regulatory and administrative binders for their assigned protocols at their respective site(s) upon initial receipt of and wherever applicable.
  • Prepares, processes, and ships laboratory samples to outside laboratories following IATA regulations.
  • Conducts venipuncture and phlebotomy on study subjects.
  • Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintaining daily tallies of collections performed as applicable
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Enhances laboratory department by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Knowledgeable of the Sponsor’s protocol so that all study activities are completed correct
