About The Position

Draw blood samples from patients using venipuncture, heel stick, or finger stick techniques. Label, record, and transport specimens to laboratories for testing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols. Maintain patient safety and comfort, especially when working with children, elderly, or anxious individuals. Verify patient identity and ensure proper documentation before sample collection. Follow infection control procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately. Creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone in the STI clinic. Prepare and maintain equipment, including needles, vials, and tourniquets. Enter data into electronic health records (EHR) systems and manage specimen tracking. Correctly label samples. Manage appointments Field work during events or outreach. Prepares samples of Urine, Feces, and other body fluids and correctly labels them. Works closely with Dr., Nurse Practitioners and the clinic team to achieve healthy outcomes.

Requirements

  • a high school diploma or GED
  • completion of a phlebotomy training program
  • passing a national certification exam is Required
